Bio

Hey! My name is Victor and I am a Senior in Dunster House who is a premed government concentrator pursuing a secondary in economics. I am originally from Dallas, Texas but spent most of my formative years in Wilmington, North Carolina. I am excited to get to know and chat with a lot of prospective government concentrators.

Outside of the classroom I have been heavily involved with the Undergraduate Council, the Institute of Politics, and Dunster House life. In the undergraduate council, I currently serve as the Student Relations Chair where I work with different student groups and administration to tackle issues related to  financing, social life, and communications between the council and the student body at large. In the Institute of Politics, I have been a participant in the Health Policy group and the citizenship tutoring programs. I also write articles for the Harvard Political Review. In Dunster, I am an avid participant in IM sports and a former HOCO member.  In addition to this, I am an active volunteer with the Kidney Disease Screening Awareness program, help teach high school students about government in Harvard Model Congress, represent the undergraduates on the Student Health Planning Committee, and work with a healthcare startup called Carezoom.

In my summers, I have participated in many government and policy related activities. The summer after my freshman year I interned in the DC office of Senator Elizabeth Warren where I was able to prepare briefs and attend hearings on health and financial legislation issues. I also did research for Professor Paul Peterson in the Kennedy School on the 2016 elections. Last summer I interned in the Health Policy Center of the Urban Institute where I was able to do extensive research on electronic health records; as well as, Medicaid expansion and its possible effects on labor force participation. This summer I will be a research Analyst at the Executive Search firm called Spencer stuart. In addition to this, I participate in The Institute of Responsible Citizenship through which I participated  in a summer course on the Founding Constitutional and Economic Principles of the U.S. and take part in seminars and events with various leaders in the public and private sector.

If you ever want to talk about anything government or Harvard related I am always open to help. Also if you just want to hang out and discuss basketball, football, music, or anything else you are into, I am your guy!
