English 90pp projects

In "Plotting the Passions: Nineteenth-Century Literature and Modern Love," students collaborated on watching, analyzing, and constructing a plot diagram for one of the following television series: Catastrophe, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Jane the Virgin. The purpose of the assignment was to demonstrate what students learned about how to analyze narrative structre, with a particular eye to how contemporary pop culture invokes, adapts, and subverts storytelling tropes that were consolidated in nineteenth-century British and European literature. Students could choose any format for their diagram and were encouraged to be as creative as possible.

In order to expand the audience for students' excellent work, we have agreed to have online versions of each project made available through my scholar.harvard website. As these online versions are completed, I will be posting them here!
