Dialectical Thinking

The Mahindra Humanities Center's Seminar in Dialectical Thinking, originally the Hegel Reading Group, explores the self-reflective style of thinking in humanistic disciplines. It does so by reading and discussing texts relevant to dialectical thought and by hosting speakers in topics on philosophy, literary theory, and the arts. This year we will read Heidegger's Being and Time, alongside work by Nishida and the Kyoto School, as well as Hegel's Philosophy of Right and Marx's Grundrisse. Readings from the past five years can be seen in the photo above. We meet weekly on Tuesdays from 6-8pm.
