As a teaching assistant for this class on American literature, I led two discussion sections, graded papers, and helped students with research. In addition, I organized trips to both the Harvard Map Collection and the Houghton Rare Books Library. During these visits, I split the class into groups to investigate the different materials available to them in the library. Each group had about 30-35 minutes to work through the questions on their handout. Each group then shared their findings with the class as a whole. With the remaining time, the students could circulate through the room to see the materials presented by the other groups.
If you follow the link to this class, you can see the handouts for the different groups during both visits.
