My main research looks at digital transformation in both startup and traditional firm settings. On the startup side, I study how technology startups and digital platforms create social and business value in emerging markets. Together with my colleages at the Tech4All Lab, we collaborate with FinTech, HealthTech and AgriTech companies to understand factors that facilitate or impede these companies from scaling in the Global South. I also study factors that shape the level of trust on digital platforms. On the traditional firm side, I study the impact digital transformation on workers in traditional firms and the effectiveness of various reskilling strategies adopted by the firm.

A second stream of my research studies the diffusion of global scientific ideas. I look at the role of language, researchers' forecasting abilities, as well as researchers' career choices in the knowledge production and diffusion processes, in order to better understand the source and frictions of innovation.
