Yixiong Huang is a Rajawali Foundation Institute Fellow for Asia at the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation, Harvard John F. Kennedy School of Government. He is a PhD candidate in Public Administration at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of International and Public Affairs. He also has more than three years of professional experience in China's medical industry and start-up companies.
Yixiong received MSc in Modern Chinese Studies from the University of Oxford under the supervision of Prof. Henrietta Harrison, and B.A. (Honors) in Political Science under the supervision of Prof. Wenran Jiang from the University of Alberta in Canada. Yixiong also earned a Certificate in Globalization and Governance from University of Alberta.
Yixiong's interests and research are now focusing on microfinance in China, public policy towards social and responsible investment, ESG (environmental, social, and governance) integration practices, and "new philanthropy" and social innovations.
