Validation of the NOTSS Taxonomy and Implementation of a Non-Technical Skills Curriculum in the USA

Funded by the National Board of Medical Examiners Stemmler Fund for Medical Education Research, the aim of this project is to customize the Non-Techncial Skills for Surgeons (NOTSS) behavior rating tool to the US context. This involves three phases: Delphi process with an expert panel to iudentify uniue non-techncial skills relevant to surgery int he USA, an online reliability assessment study, and implementation of NOTSS in six Academic Medical Centers across the US to establish initial validity and generate normative data.
