Dr. Rui Guo’s research will be focused on assessment of the potential of various negative emission technologies, in the context of atmospheric carbon dioxide sequestration. Special interests lie in the carbonation processes of natural and industrially produced silicates. He recently joined Prof. Zhu Liu’s group based in the Department of Earth System Science at Tsinghua University, after completing his PhD in earth sciences at University of Cambridge (2019), where he held the Cambridge International Scholarship to conduct research on the mechanism of nuclear waste glass dissolution. He is also interested in research topics that are pertaining to the environmental implications and financial feasibility of nuclear power.
He is looking for interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities worldwide to establish specific research projects regarding his research interests mentioned above.
