Xinyu Dou is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Earth System Science, Tsinghua University, under the supervision of Prof. Zhu Liu. She received her bachelor’s degree of Geography Information Science in East China Normal University. Her research field includes the identification of frontrunner cities in low-carbon transformation, carbon emissions inventory, and spatial gridding of emissions using multi-source big data (especially nightlight big data).
The core of work in her PhD research is to calculate carbon emissions budgets at the city level, focusing on the dynamic boundaries of urban carbon emissions, which provides opportunities to help cities to define its true and specific emissions structure and then set more reasonable targets to reduce emissions.
