Ying Yu is a third-year PhD student in environmental sciences and engineering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in management. Prior to joining the Gillings School of Global Public Health, UNC-Chapel Hill, she focused on environmental & energy economics and worked as a research assistant at the China Institute for Studies in Energy Policy. Yu was involved in a research project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and two consulting projects funded by the State Grid Corporation of China. She published papers in Energy Economics and China Economic Review and gave an oral presentation at the 37th USAEE/IAEE North American Conference.
