Ryan B. Samuels

Ryan B. Samuels entered the PhD program in Classical Philology at Harvard in 2006 and began teaching as a Teaching Fellow in the Department of the Classics in 2008. Since 2010 he has also regularly taught Greek and Latin in the Harvard Extension School. His dissertation examines the use of characterization inherited from classical and postclassical comedy in imperial prose texts. Ryan's teaching and research interests include ancient comedy, classical rhetoric, Greek and Latin stylistics and prose composition, epigram, satire, and the Second Sophistic.
